WARRINGTON Rylands forward Callum Dolan has secured a move to professional football.

The 22-year-old – Blues’ leading scorer this season – has been confirmed to have stepped up four leagues to join League One side Fleetwood Town, who say they have fended off interest from other Football League clubs for his signature.

Rylands have received a transfer fee for Dolan’s services – the amount is undisclosed but it is believed to be a club record sale.

The deal does not include a loan back option and as such, Dolan will leave the club to join up with the Highbury outfit effective immediately having signed a two-and-a-half year contract.

He is the second player to have secured a move to the Football League from Rylands in recent times after striker Elliott Nevitt, who scored a hat-trick at Wembley Stadium as Blues lifted the FA Vase in 2021, was snapped up by Tranmere Rovers.

Having moved to Gorsey Lane prior to the start of last season, the former Manchester United academy player scored seven goals as part of the club’s Northern Premier League West title-winning effort.

However, it is this season when he has really come into his own having struck 15 times in 26 appearances to be second on the NPL Premier Division’s goalscoring charts.

In total, Dolan leaves having scored 22 goals in 56 appearances in Rylands colours.

He joins a Fleetwood side who currently sit 16th in League One and are managed by former Celtic and Scotland captain Scott Brown.
