HOTELS in Warrington have seen prices rocket for a weekend stay during NBHD Weekender next year.

The two-day festival returns to Victoria Park for the May bank holiday weekend in 2023, which is May 27 and 28.

Headliners for the festival include Pulp, who return to the scene after a 23-year break.

Other performers on the line-up are Scouting for Girls, Sugababes, Anne-Marie, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott.

The festival does not feature camping on-site, unlike other festivals, which means that revellers will have to find alternative accommodation for the weekend if they wish to attend both days of the festival.

Across seven hotels in Warrington - a mixture of independent and chain sites - the average price of a two-night stay has rocketed for the weekend in May.

For comparison, we looked at booking a weekend stay in February (11-13) compared to the weekend of NBHD in May (27-29).

Of the seven sites, only four hotels had availability for the weekend in May, showing that the others had no rooms available to book - meaning that every room had already been taken.

The hotels that were fully booked included the Park Royal, Statham Lodge, Holiday Inn, and Travelodge in the town centre.

The Village, Pentahotel, Premier Inn (Winwick), and Travelodge (Gemini) all still had availability.

Across the hotels available, the average price of the weekend stay in February would be £78 for two adults - for NBHD Weekender, the average price would be £316.87.

Prices, on average, have rocketed by 306 per cent for a weekend stay during the music festival.

The hotel with the largest increase is Pentahotel on Birchwood Business Park, which goes from £71.10 in February to £329.85 in May, an increase of £258.75.

Prices have increased by £238.87 across the four sites with availability for NBHD Weekender.

A similar story can be seen for the prices of hotels in Warrington across the weekend of the EuroVision final in Liverpool next year, too.

All hotels in Warrington have either upped the price of a stay, or are fully booked for the weekends of both major music events next year.
