A FASHION exhibit based around the theme of food will be coming to Warrington next week.

The exhibit, which is part of the Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival, will be a choreographed fashion show, taking place on Saturday, November 26.

'Table Manners' will feature clothes designed and created by Sophie New, from the Royal College of Art.

The clothes created by Sophie have made use of discarded materials, or charity shop finds, in order to make something entirely new and unique.

This show's focus is showcasing the looks and the creativity of the artists, with one-of-a-kind outfits available to buy on the day.

Other makers include Nicky Carty of Cheshire Corsetry, Lucianne Canavan and Sophie Edwards of Just Driftin.

'Table Manners' has been choreographed by Sarah Bateman with volunteer models from the local community who have worked tirelessly to create something exciting and professional.

There will also be a performance by some of the talented young dancers, and they will wear hand-painted gowns by Tony Green, an artist from Culcheth who has worked in fashion houses in Paris.

An installation will take place on the theme of food, and this theme subtly runs through some items in the collection - local makers have given their food-related or table-based items to be displayed at the show.

The event's organisers said: "'Table Manners' is a feast for the eyes and soup for the soul as you peruse the scrumptious mixed media art installation cooked up by local creatives setting the table for a buffet of art wear performances showcasing handmade and sustainable style made and modelled by members of our community.

"The proof is in the pudding, so get down to be served your slice of goodness, and this watched pot will boil."

They added: "We’re happy to have students from Priestley College displaying some collage work which we thought were perfect pieces for a fashion show."

'Table Manners' will be held at Parrs Bank, in the centre of town, on Saturday, November 26.

The show begins at 7pm, and tickets can be purchased through Culture Warrington's website.
