A POPULAR bakery has reopened its doors to customers following a refurbishment.
It was reported last month that customers at Birchwood Shopping Centre were confused when they spotted that the shutters were down at Greggs.
But it was later confirmed that this was due to the store receiving a renovation rather than closing, with the branch set to reopen this month.
The Greggs branch closed on October 23, and it was estimated to reopen on November 11 after nearly three weeks.
However, Birchwood Shopping Centre says the store is now open a day earlier than expected.
Posting on social media, Birchwood Shopping Centre said: “Greggs is now open.
“The snazzy new refit is all complete and Greggs is now reopen from today.
“A much wider selection is now in store, including hot and prepared sandwiches, drinks and snacks, as well as the important sausage rolls and bakes.”
