A BELOVED town centre cafe has temporarily closed the doors to one of its kitchens but wants to reassure guests that it will be back in action soon.

Cafe at the End of the Universe has been in business since 2017, and guests have been able to enjoy dine-in or delivery options since the cafe opened its second kitchen.

However, the cafe has issued an announcement regarding its second kitchen.

Cafe at the End of the Universe announced on social media: "Our Dark Kitchen is closed so we won't be doing any delivery for the time being.

"We hope this will be a short-term thing and we'll be back open in late November/early December, but we have continually struggled with some technical issues and staffing issues recently.

"We were left with no other option than to close to get this essential work done and recruit some new staff."

The cafe's 'Dark Kitchen' has been used to provide delivery food from the popular eatery, but the owners of the business have made the decision to close this second kitchen.

This is a temporary closure, with the cafe saying that it hopes to have the kitchen back up and running for deliveries before Christmas.

The owners have said that they have had staffing and technical issues with the site, which has made the decision to close the kitchen inevitable.

While the Dark Kitchen is closed, the owners are hoping to have refurbishment work done on the flooring at the second site, and the closure will allow the work to take place.

At the beginning of October, the cafe announced that it would be increasing prices in line with the cost of living, and increasing running costs for the business.

Announced on social media at the time, Cafe at the End of the Universe said: "We have seen the price of cooking oil double since Christmas, all our meat, buns everything has gone up massively. On top of that, we have to pay for increases in our gas, electric, rent etc.

"This leaves us with two options, we could look at getting cheaper quality products (frozen burgers, buns etc) or we can increase our prices accordingly."

The owners added: "We recognise that everyone is feeling the pinch at the moment and with that in mind we have made sure we have kept our children's meals the same price, we would rather not make any money on them and make sure everyone can afford to bring their kids out for food."

Cafe at the End of the Universe remains open for dine-in and takeaway collections in Warrington's indoor market.
