A WOOLSTON businesswoman has said that 'gangs of kids' regularly make her life a 'nightmare.'

Groups of youths regularly gather near Dam Lane shops, in Woolston, and they are disturbing local businesses, according to shop owners.

Lisa Parker runs Dermaclear, on Dam Lane, and she said that 'gangs of kids' make it difficult to run a business from the site.

She says that there is evidence of groups having lit fires in the area, and that they make messes that need to be cleared up by others.

Lisa said that the issue was raised with the local council in 2020, as well as the Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols.

The Woolston business owner says that since the visit from the MP and local police in 2020, nothing has been done to solve the problems caused by antisocial youth behaviour.

Lisa said: "There is no support from the local council, I have been promised so much from the police but as we know they are too busy.

"There is a filthy exterior, but the landlord does not want to know - it’s an accident waiting to happen, and making my life hell."

Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols said: "It is frustrating to hear that this ongoing problem has not been resolved at Dam Lane Shops."

Ms Nichols added: "When I was first informed of it I organised a meeting with the local police and Cheshire’s then-Police and Crime Commissioner so that they were all informed. I regularly speak with the current PCC, and will make sure that he is aware of this.

"I also want to see more opportunities and activities for young people in Woolston. As with any constituent who has concerns that they want to be addressed, the more details that can be sent to my office the better we can assist."

Woolston Parish Council was contacted for comment and has not responded.
