A STUDENT midwife and owner of an independent aesthetics clinic is offering free treatment to help ‘empower’ victims of self-harm and domestic abuse.

Michaela Berry from Sankey Bridges and owner of Lavender Moon Aesthetics is on a personal mission to help as many victims as possible who want it, to heal physically from their mental battles by providing a micro-needling treatment that rejuvenates and repairs scars and traumas to the skin.

With the offer stretching to as many sessions as are necessary for the individual who needs it.

The free treatment will be on-going and will be ‘completely non-judgemental and confidential’.

Michaela, who works in Warrington Hospital as a midwife as well as running the aesthetics business, explained having a ‘lifelong mission’ to help sufferers of mental health, being no stranger to the battle herself and having watched close family members go through similar experiences.

She said: “A person's struggles with ill mental health does not necessarily reflect their future self and I feel like this may be an area not usually explored.

“If I can make just one person build their confidence through scar rejuvenation and micro needling or help in camouflaging their scars (if they so wish) then I would be delighted.”

The treatment works by creating small traumas to the skin and promotes natural collagen found in the body which effectively aids skin rejuvenation and repair.

The 35-year-old has run the aesthetics treatments from her home since 2021 and prior to this has been a trained beautician for more than a decade.

“This is something very close to my heart,” She continued, “As a profound sufferer of ill mental health and having lost family members to mental health, I thought it would be beneficial and fulfilling to support people from a different perspective by empowering them with confidence and advocating for awareness.

“It's an entirely confidential non-judgemental approach focusing on self-worth through how they see scars and hope to encourage limitless self-progression.”
