Lying-in-state wristband seller felt 'blessed' to be there

Wristbands were given to members of the public who joined the hours-long queue to pay their respects to Her late Majesty the Queen.

Members of the public were able to view the Queen's coffin from Wednesday, September 14, until the morning of the Queen's funeral on Monday, September 19.

One person who queued to see the Queen's coffin later listed a queue wristband on eBay for thousands of pounds.

The seller - 'boglinbells' - said that she queued for 10 hours after travelling down to London to see the Queen lying-in-state in Westminster Hall.

When asked why she listed the wristband online, she said: "The wristband on sale here belonged to our one-year-old, who didn’t end up wearing it, and thus we kept it together with the ones we wore for the day.

"We have all of our wristbands to keep to help us remember the very special day we spent together and thus the one we didn’t use we have decided to list on eBay."

'Boglinbells' is selling the wristband from just 15 miles outside of Warrington, from Sapling Road.

She said: "On Sunday, September 18, my family and I drove down to London from Manchester and spent 10 hours queueing to visit Queen Elizabeth II lying-in-state.

"Following our visit to Westminster Hall, we drove back to Manchester - a 24-hour round trip for us all."

The wristband seller added: "The Royal Family is very special to me and my family and we are blessed to have had the opportunity to be part of such a momentous occasion."
