A NEW Farmfoods warehouse is set to come to Warrington.
The frozen food giants are to take on a huge warehouse space in the south of the town, just outside of Appleton Thorn.
The warehouse is almost 250,000 square feet in size.
Located at the intersection of the M6 and the M56, it will be just four miles south of the town centre.
A warehouse of this size will bring a number of jobs to the town.
Farmfoods has taken on a warehouse lease for 25 years, running until 2047.
The owners of the warehouse, Tungsten Properties, said that works to refit the warehouse will commence in November.
By the time Farmfoods moves into the warehouse, the building will be carbon neutral, having achieved 'Net Zero Carbon' accreditation.
This will be the latest site to join Farmfoods' hundreds of stores and distribution sites across the country.
The company will continue to operate its current Warrington site, in the town centre.
Ashleigh Hayes, associate development director, Tungsten Properties said: "We warmly welcome Farmfoods to their new distribution centre and wish them continued success as they deliver for their ever-expanding customer base.
"As with all our buildings, the way that we have built in the sustainability credentials means that operational carbon emissions will be reduced by 26 per cent over building regulations, meaning Farmfoods can operate out of their new building as efficiently as possible."
