A TOWN centre restaurant has launched a new low-cost menu to encourage customers to continue to dine out amid the cost of living crisis.

All new items on The Botanist’s lunch menu have a fixed price of £9.95 - meaning diners at the Time Square site can choose from a wide range of dishes and flavours at the same cost.

The menu comes after rising concerns surrounding the ongoing cost of living crisis.

And according to The Botanist, this new offering is to encourage people to continue socialising in restaurants and bars without worrying about spending too much money while concerns around the cost of living crisis continue to grow.

The new lunch menu, which can be found in The Botanist venues across the country, reflects a ‘modern take’ on home-cooked food – featuring classics such as crispy panko chicken served with katsu sauce and a noodles salad, a Philly steak sandwich with peppers, onions, melted cheese, and peppercorn sauce, and fish and chips.

The brand’s signature hanging kebabs also feature on the menu.

Guests can opt for chicken, lamb kofta or vegan meatballs, all served on a board with a grilled flatbread, houmous, coleslaw and salad and a choice of garlic mayo, bang-bang sauce or harissa jam on the side.

Or for those who can’t decide what to opt for, there is a lunch board where diners can select three small plates.

The menu is available Monday to Friday from 12pm until 4pm.

James Scott, executive chef at The Botanist, said: “People see our venues as their sanctuary, and we want them to feel they still have somewhere to come for respite, to forget about their day-to-day worries for a few hours, especially during this extremely tough time.

“Our new lunch menu offers the same home-cooked comfort food that diners have come to know and love when visiting our restaurants, at a fraction of the cost of our main menu items – giving them value for money but the same fresh, quality, seasonal ingredients.”
