WARRINGTON, along with the rest of the country, will mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Monday.
The day has been marked as a bank holiday, and will see the closure of many retail sites, as well as medical centres, supermarkets, and even foodbanks.
However, many pubs and bars in Warrington will remain open to patrons who wish to say goodbye to Her Majesty in public.
Here are some of the venues that will be open for the Queen's state funeral, and will broadcast the event, on Monday morning:
- The Mulberry Tree, Stockton Heath
- The Stonemill, Orford
- The Barley Mow, Town Centre
- The Slug and Lettuce (according to the bar's parent company), Stockton Heath
- The Peacock, Birchwood
- The london Bridge, Stockton Heath
- The Saracen's Head, Stockton Heath
- The Spread Eagle, Lymm
Other venues, such as The Bull's Head, The Black Swan, and The Swan at Winwick will all open after the funeral has ended.
A number of pubs will be shut for the whole of the bank holiday, including The Famous King and Queen, The Waterside, Juniper Farm, Chapelford Farm, and The Culcheth Arms.
Golden Square will also be showing the funeral on a big screen in the Old Fish Market.
The state funeral for Her Majesty the Queen will take place on Monday, September 19, at 11am - it will be broadcast live on BBC One.
