Three wins from 4 games is not a bad start to the season. Its obvious that as a team we aren't firing on all cylinders at the moment.

Partnerships and learning about how the players play is still being worked out. The main thing is, we are winning! and at this stage of the season you will take any win even if it means winning ugly! The new guys in Chris Hicks, Michael Monaghan Louie Anderson are looking really good and i think they have fitted into the side extremely well. Matt King before he got injured was showing great attacking ability and i am sure all four players will only get better with more game time. The team is looking to improve each week and i feel we are doing this.

The one area we have been talking about is the penalties conceded, against Hull KR we gave a way 16 penalties, against Catalans we gave a way 2 penalties and our completion rate was also high. So from the stats a lone you can see there is improvement being made. The Catalans game wasn't the fastest or most exciting game we have played in but at the beginning of the season i think that is quite understandable and the main thing is, we won! The pace and skill level will only get better as the season progress's, and as the players get match fitness, and when the weather improves and that will happen with every team in Super League.

I thought the forwards deserved a pat on the back after the weekend, the Catalans pack is a big aggressive pack and to control them down the middle of the park is no easy job, well done forwards! There was some aggressive tackling and some strong running and that is what we will need again this week against Wigan. I thought we looked really good at times in attack and you have to admit we have scored some great tries already this season. I Think if we win the battle of field position we will have no trouble scoring tries, the quality of our half backs and back line is one of the best.

This week against Wigan will be a tough encounter. Wigan have started the season well and they had a great win over Bradford last saturday. They also got Stuart Fielden back from injury and that is a massive plus for them. It should be another big test for our forwards this week. Adrian Morley and Paul Rauhihi have been playing long spells for us in the middle of the park and they have been doing a great job for us. Rob Parker as been adding good energy to the team when he has been coming off the bench and his defence as been really strong. I think there will be a good aggressive battle this week in the forwards and i am excited by it. I think Benny Westwood and Louie Anderson against Gaz Hock and Andy Coley should also prove to be an important battle out wide! A lot of play will come from Trent Barrett and i think we'll need to pressure him early on and Thomas leuluai had a good game last week and his kicking game will need to be pressured. I think this will be a really tight and exciting game and i think it as the makings to be a classic Warrington and Wigan game!

Last week against Catalans was a little disappointing for myself because after 6 minutes into my come back i came off the field with a dislocated shoulder. After seeing the specialist and having a scan Monday afternoon the scan showed no major damage. The specialist said that there was no need for surgery and that rehab and rest should see me ok. Although i have had 4 operations only 1 of those was a reconstruction, so although 4 operations sounds major it maybe sounds worse then it actually is. A lot of people have sent me messages of support and i would like to thank them dearly for that and it means a lot to me, thank you! Hopefully I won't be sidelined to long and I should be fit soon. Hopefully we can get the win against Wigan and keep our season improving.

Speak soon, Woody.
