Bombay 8 was named Curry Life’s Best Restaurant in 2018 and 2021 and took home the English Curry Awards’ Outstanding Restaurant of the Year honour in 2018.

The hard-working team have been serving customers for almost ten years and owner Mofozul Miah says that despite the current struggles with the cost of living crisis and the after effects of the global Covid-19 pandemic, he is determined to continue serving top quality food to the same high standards that customers have come to expect over the past decade.

He said: “Everyone is struggling for staff at the moment and the increase in the daily cost of groceries as well as gas and electric is affecting everybody in the business.

“The last two years have been extremely tough for everyone, no matter what their trade, so it’s fantastic to receive this award, which recognises our hard work.”

Mofozul said his most popular dishes are murgh tanga, which is a mix of sweet, sour and hot with a tamarind sauce, as well as shashlicks.

Their newest dishes on the menu are a reflection of more traditional, homestyle cooking with chicken or lamb served with potatoes.

Mofozul attended the 11th English Curry Awards in Birmingham on Monday, August 22 and was on hand to collect the award.

He said: “We were shortlisted in such a difficult category – Best Curry Restaurant in the north west – and there are so many brilliant restaurants that made the final ten as well as those that just missed out.

“It’s fantastic to be nominated and a massive achievement to win.”
