NESTLED in the heart of Lymm lies the village's latest addition to its nightlife.

A fun blend between a bar and a pub, BrewChimp is the new kid on the block, and we headed down there to see what it's all about.

Located on Rectory Lane, it's surprisingly convenient to get to from the public car park, which will be a blessing to any designated drivers.

That's the only drawback of BrewChimp - if you don't live in Lymm, you're going to need to drive into the village from other parts of Warrington.

First impressions count - and our first impression was a welcoming, modern bar, with staff who know exactly what they're talking about.

They're just as comfortable recommending wine as they are a craft German wheat beer - at least one of which is surprisingly gluten-free, and vegan.

This is the latest venture in BrewChimp's history, having bars in Urmston and Flixton, amongst others.

David Leape is the owner of BrewChimp, and he said: "When we start getting regulars then if people ask for specialist drinks, we'll get them ordered in and cater to those guests."

This is the first bar we've heard of that orders specific drinks in to suit guests.

BrewChimp is hoping to establish itself as part of the community in Lymm, and will soon be putting on themed nights - they are very open to suggestions from the public, and will 'give anything a go'.

"We'll take people's suggestions on board - apart from Carling, we won't stock that," David joked.

With tribute nights at its other sites, the bar is hoping to offer something for everyone.

And we've all been there when you've sunk a couple of pints and you're feeling peckish - not to worry, BrewChimp has partnered with Elmas Meditteranean, so you can order their takeaway pizzas right to the comfort of your booth at the bar.

David said: "The warm reception has been great, and the people of Lymm are really lovely!

"As soon as I walked onto the site, I had a good feeling and thought 'Yeah, this is BrewChimp'."

At the end of the day, as we said, the biggest drawback of BrewChimp is that the location isn't very convenient for non-Lymm-based customers - but the sheer variety of events that the bar is looking to put on means that it's a guaranteed good night out, even if you're the designated driver.

We're confident that BrewChimp will be a hit, and we'd recommend it to anyone - give it a go, you might just enjoy yourself!
