A BELOVED bakery in the Golden Square is set to open its new store in Culcheth this week.

White Lace Bakery is a familiar sight to shoppers in the Golden Square Shopping Centre, and it is now expanding its operations to Culcheth.

This comes after the bakery experienced huge success and support in the town centre, taking part in the Maker's Market, amongst other events.

The bakery's latest venture is set to open its doors on Wednesday, August 17, at 10am - the new shop is on Warrington Road, in Culcheth.

Some of the store's best-selling produce includes brownies, blondies, cakes, and milkshakes.

As well as those items, the bakery also offers cookie dough, and cookie pies - with flavours like 'white chocolate rainbow', and Malteser.

The bakery has rave reviews on social media and has more than 11,000 page followers on Facebook.

When asked about the new site, White Lace Bakery said: "Our new shop is a smaller version of our Golden Square shop, with it being over the other side of Warrington we are hoping to gain some new customers and be a real part of the community there."

All products are made from scratch on-site, every single day.

The vast success of the bakery has taken the owners by surprise: "Lots of people come and see us for their weekly treat, we do get customers travelling from afar to try our bakes.

"A recent one as far as Leeds, this blew us away. It’s very humbling for a small family-run business like ours."

White Lace Bakery is open from 10am until 5pm Tuesday to Sunday, unless they sell out - which is likely, given the bakery's popularity.

The bakery's owners said: "We are a husband and wife team, our eldest daughter is the shop manager at Golden Square. Our son-in-law is our head baker.

"We are so passionate about what we do, putting lots of love and pride into our bakes and customer service. Our customers are everything, without them, we wouldn’t exist."
