NO matter how it comes, a team will always take any form of win on the opening day of the new season.

And Warrington Town got the job done albeit sealing the deal at home against Morpeth Town in Northern Premier League West with two goals after the clock had ticked past 90 minutes.

Jordan Buckley, a 67th-minute substitute, helped to create the first and netted the second as Town ran out 2-0 victors.

Firstly, it was Buckley's quick throw which caught the visitors off guard.

Sean Williams banged in the cross and there was Buckley-Ricketts to mark his debut with Town's first goal of the new season in the 90th minute.

Scorer then became provider, as his pass found Buckley in acres of space and he coolly slotted the ball into the roof of the net in added time.

Town boss Mark Beesley named five debutants in his starting line-up and another on the bench.

More to follow.
