A WOMAN in her 20s was seriously injured after being hit by a van in the early hours of the morning.

The casualty, a pedestrian, was taken to hospital after being involved in a collision outside Starbucks in Westbrook.

A large number of police and paramedics were at the scene on Apollo Park at around 4am on Thursday, August 4.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Officers attended and found the pedestrian, a 24-year-old woman, had sustained serious injuries as a result.

“The woman was taken to Aintree Hospital for further checks.

“Her condition is not believed to be life threatening.”

A spokesman for North West Ambulance NHS Trust said: “We dispatched a rapid response vehicle and ambulance to the scene and a female patient was taken to Aintree Hospital.”

Enquiries in relation to this incident are now underway.

Police are appealing for information.
