WARRINGTON Wolves head coach Daryl Powell has hailed the positive vibes junior supporters brought to training ahead of tomorrow's 'derby' game with Wigan.
Around 500 young members attended captain's run this morning and Powell agreed it was a boost for the players to see the support willing them to get through this tough period, with The Wire struggling in the lower reaches of the Super League table.
“There’s been lots of young people here and it had a good vibe about it," said Powell.
“It was a pleasure to get out there and meet a lot of the fans and sign some autographs.
“It is important for the players. Obviously at the moment it is difficult circumstances but we have to drive together, that’s the only way really.
“We’ve obviously got to do our jobs better. We’re getting to three-quarter time in games at the moment and we’re in good positions, but those last 20 minutes are absolutely pivotal for us.
“So having our fans behind us is absolutely huge. Obviously we’ve got a vision of where we want to get to and at the moment that’s a tough battle, but we’ve got to maintain our unity and toughness, and come out the other side of a difficult situation.”
Thank you @WarringtonRLFC, the players & staff. My kids thoroughly enjoyed this morning 💙💛 pic.twitter.com/cfvKw48z0R
