A STRANDED swan has been rescued by firefighters in Woolston this afternoon, Wednesday.
Fire crews from Lymm, Birchwood and Warrington fire stations attended Grey Mist Mere at around 3.10pm.
This came after the RSPCA asked for assistance in rescuing a swan that was entangled in fishing line.
Firefighters from Lymm Animal Rescue Unit used a raft to reach the swan.
Once near, they then managed to untangle the line and pass the swan into the care of the RSPCA for an assessment to take place.
