WOOLSTON Rovers A produced a ruthless performance to defeat Liverpool Lizards 72-0 in North West Men's League Division Three at Monk Sports Club.

Rovers opened the scoring early and never looked back against a side that only arrived with 12 men and suffered injuries during the game.

Liam Lawton, the Rovers A head coach, said: “We started the game really well and never took our foot off the gas.

"Our attacking play was exceptional and that allowed us to score some fantastic tries.

"You have to give enormous credit to Liverpool who never gave up. They came with 12 men and picked up a couple of injuries in the first half that really took its toll but the spirit they showed was exceptional.

"We need to continue in this vein of form for our remaining games so that we can finish the season on a high.”

Craig Lawton converted all 12 tries which were scored by debutant Dylan Alcock, two, Sam Vernon, two, Thodorhs Nianiakas, two, Dan Griffiths, Ben Roberts, Olly Parr, Jay-Jay Catterall, Nathan Maguire and Lewis Dawson.
