VARIOUS traffic restrictions will be in place for motorists and pedestrians as Creamfields Music Festival comes to Daresbury.

The dance music festival is taking place from tomorrow, Thursday, August 25, to Sunday, August 28.

Warrington Borough Council has announced what temporary restrictions will be in place leading up to and at the time of the festival.

The restrictions that will be in place from August 25, for five days, are as follows:

  • The entire length or road of Hatton Lane, Underbridge Lane and Warrington Road will be closed.
  • Daresbury Lane will close from its junction with Warrington Road to the Borough Boundary with Halton
  • Hobb Lane will close from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to the Borough Boundary with Halton
  • Holly Hedge Lane will close from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Runcorn Road
  • Old Chester Road will close from its northerly junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Walton Lea Road
  • Park Lane will close from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Warrington Road
  • A 20mph speed limit will be in place on A56 Chester Road from the borough boundary with Halton to its junctions with Old Chester Road/Runcorn Road

  • A30mph speed limit will be in place on Daresbury Lane from its junction with Warrington Road to the borough boundary with Halton
  • Prohibition of U-turns will be in place on Chester Road to prohibit all vehicles proceeding in either direction on Chester Road between the borough boundary with Halton to its junctions with Old Chester Road/Runcorn Road
  • A clearway will be in place the entire length of Hatton Lane, Holly Hedge Lane, Pillmoss Lane, Underbridge Lane, Warrington Road
  • A clearway will be in place on the following: Daresbury Lane from its junction with Warrington Road to the borough boundary with Halton, Hobb Lane from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to the borough boundary with Halton, Park Lane from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Warrington Road, Runcorn Road from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Hobb Lane
  • And a footpath closure will be in place on Hatton Footpath No.12 from its junction with Hatton Lane to its junction with Gosling Close

A Warrington Borough Council spokesperson said: “The Order will be effective from Thursday, August 25 2022, for five days, as and when signed on site.

“Access will be under the control of the event organiser for the duration of the works.

“Temporary diversion signs will be erected on site detailing the associated alternative routes for the duration of the works.

“The temporary restrictions are required to facilitate the Creamfields Music Festival.”
