A WESTBROOK firm has raised more than £40,000 for vulnerable children and families following their Giving Back campaign.

AlphaBiolabs, a DNA, drug, alcohol and health testing provider based in Westbrook, has raised more than £40,000 for vulnerable children and families following their Giving Back campaign.

The money has been donated to four of Alphabiolab's charity partners from across the UK, each receiving £10,000 in donations since the campaign began in 2021.

The campaign is designed to allow AlphaBiolabs to support those most in need, a point that Rachel Davenport, the company’s director, was keen to stress.

She said: “With many years’ experience providing legally-instructed drug and alcohol testing, we have seen first-hand the impact that substance misuse can have on vulnerable children and their families.”

Given the success that the campaign has achieved in just 12 months, AlphaBiolabs have pledged to commit to the campaign into 2023.

Rachel added: “We could never have anticipated what a phenomenal difference our donations would make to these four incredible organisations, enabling them to continue their amazing work supporting vulnerable people across the country.

"The campaign is now in its second year, and we can’t wait to see how much we’re able to raise in the next 12 months.”

The campaign’s donations have been vital in helping all four charities to carry out their vital work.

For example, Hilary Henriques MBE, who is Chief Executive of The National Association for Children of Alcoholics, said: “Their generous support means helpline counsellors will be there to answer calls from children and concerned others from all over the UK.”
