JULIE Chapman and Damian Morrison delivered the goods at the death to win the Padgate Tennis and Bowls Club Festival Mixed Pairs.
They beat off a strong challenge from Jean Wanbon and Dave Bennett 21-16 in the final.
The lead changed hands several times and Wanbon/Bennett led 16-15 only for Chapman/Morrison to grab the last three ends with a 1, 3, and 2 to claim the victory.
In the quarter finals the winners had a good win against Tracy Gander and Mark Budworth 21-17 and then cruised into the final with a 21-4 semi-final success over Anne Hall and Linden Taylor.
Wanbon/Bennett had an easy last-eight victory over W and S Cunningham 21-4, but then, after being 19-11 up, suffered a scare before running out 21-18 in their semi-final versus P Gamon and T Judson.
The trophy and prize money were presented by organiser Dave Hall.
