ARGUABLY the most famous ride at Gulliver’s World is up for an award.

The Antelope, which opened in 1995, is up for ‘Best Wooden Coaster’ award at the UK Theme Park Awards 2022.

It has been shortlisted along with coasters at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Oakwood Theme Park, Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, Dreamland Margate, Joyland and Alton Towers.

And that is not the only success Gulliver’s Theme Parks could be bringing home.

They are also up for ‘Best Mascot’ with Gully and Gilly Mouse and Gulliver’s Theme Parks has also been put forward as ‘Best Theme Park for Toddlers’.

Craig Clews, resort director at Gulliver’s World, said: “Everyone here at Gulliver’s World is excited to be nominated at the prestigious UK Theme Park Awards 2022 for Best Wooden Coaster.

“The Antelope remains one of our most popular rides that is enjoyed by all our customers young and old.

“The winners are selected from a public vote so we hope all our guests will come out in force and vote for us alongside the other Gulliver’s nominations.

“Gully and Gilly Mouse, which are more popular than ever owing to the recent launch of Gully’s Toon Time on Gulliver’s TV YouTube channel, are up for Best Mascots and we are also in contention for the Best Theme Park for Toddlers which covers all our UK sites in Warrington, Milton Keynes, Rotherham and Matlock Bath.

“The team at Gulliver’s work so hard to make memories and provide families and young people with fun-filled experiences so these awards are great recognition for us. We’d like to thank everyone for their support so far.”

Voting opens on Friday, July 22 at ukthemeparkawards.com.
