A RENOWNED pub in Warrington will shut this weekend.
The Causeway, based on Wilderspool Causeway, will close on Sunday, June 26.
It was taken over in March 2021 by owners with plans to make the pub part of the community again and bring families back to the venue.
They wanted to change the street appeal of the pub and did so by planting several flower beds.
The pub has held live music performances and karaoke nights and introduced new artists to the gigging scene in the past year.
Rebecca Green, who is running the pub, will continue to run The Black Horse in Sankey Bridges upon the closure of The Causeway.
On Facebook, she wrote: “It's with sadness that I have to inform everyone that the pub will shut from June 26.
"I am very sad to see it go, many friendships have been formed there and I will be sorry to leave it.
“Come down for a drink to say goodbye.
“Some of you will already know that I've been running The Black Horse for a couple of months, so Warrington won't be getting rid of me just yet.
“See you all soon.”
