AS you walked down towards The Cross, you were met with aromas of sweet, continental food and the sight of hundreds of residents who had gathered in the village.
That meant one thing: Lymm’s Food Fest was back.
Kickstarting Lymm Festival, the first event is always hugely popular with residents and after two years away due to coronavirus, it came back with a bang.
Making my way through the herds of people – all in good spirits – you got to see some of the tasty food options that lined the streets from The Cross to near the Lower Dam.
The village boasted multiple Indian food options, Thai, Mediterranean, burgers, pizzas and more.
And on top of that, the likes of The Wine Kitchen and The Terrace were providing drinks of the alcohol variety on the street – all was going swimmingly with several people eagerly queuing for each stall.
I tucked away a mixed grill from the new Spice Kitchen and that comprised three lovely onion bhajis, three spicy wings and a meat samosa which were also great.
It would be rude to not try another option though with your eyes being teased by different choices everywhere you look.
That meant the Chilli Club got the call up for the stir-fried pork with steamed rice, you can’t go wrong with that.
The village was bursting with residents and visitors which was lovely sight and the food options were superb.
Events like the May Queen and the Food Fest have brought even more life back to the village of late after the cancellation of events due to the pandemic and long may it continue.
