ACTOR Max Beesley has been spotted - buying a sports car in Knutsford.

The star of the BBC series Hotel Babylon is now driving in the luxury of an Alfa Romeo Spider 2.2 JTS Convertible, which he picked up from the country's largest Alfa Romeo dealership, Mangoletsi.

Max grew up in Manchester and often returns to the region as an avid Manchester United fan.

Other celebrities who have driven away with an Alfa Romeo from the Knutsford dealership have included Max's Hotel Babylon co-stars Tamzin Outhwaite and Dexter Fletcher, musician Katie Melua, comedian Rory Bremner, celebrity chefs James Martin and Aldo Zilli and former Eastenders actor Nigel Harman.

Fraser Hudson, managing director of Mangoletsi, said: "We were delighted to supply the Alfa Spider to Max. He and a large number of celebrities are really enjoying driving an Alfa Romeo supplied from us."
