DESPITE the winter wonderland theme, there were many hearts warmed by the generosity of guests at the Children's Adventure Farm Trust's tenth annual ball. The Millington charity was overwhelmed on the night as the fundraising total reached a staggering £150,000.

More than 400 guests were welcomed with a frozen daiquiri drinks reception before digging into a four-course festive feast.

Compere Andy Ashworth kept guests entertained with fun and games, including a chocolate box raffle which ended in one lucky guest winning a 35-carat unset diamond worth £1,000.

Special guests included CAFT patrons Farokh Engineer and Paralympic gold medallist Sarah Bailey.

Former Coronation Street stars Lee Boardman and Jennifer James presented prizes in the raffle.
