A CAR is believed to have deliberately been set on fire in Culcheth in the early hours of Saturday morning (June 11).
Calls were made to the fire service at around 1.30am reporting that a car was on fire on a driveway on Bevin Avenue.
One appliance from Birchwood was dispatched to the scene, and when firefighters arrived, the blaze had spread from the car to a nearby fence.
Although the fire was extinguished, the matter was reported to Cheshire Police as it is believed to have been deliberately started.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received reports of a car fire at 1.38am.
“A fire involving a car on a drive was extinguished by firefighters using two hose reels.
“The fire caused damage to a fence and is believed to have been started deliberately so police were informed.”
If anyone knows anything about this incident, they should call Cheshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
