ANOTHER accolade has been added to Bruche Primary School’s long list of awards.

An in-depth look at every aspect of physical education (PE) was carried out before The Association for Physical Education’s Quality Mark for Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity was handed to the school.

Assessors said the school had an “outstanding” commitment to swimming, which included the use of School Swimming Foundation Awards and swimming passports to record children’s progress in the pool.

They were also pleased to note that pupils did PE for more than the recommended two hours per week and that sport and physical activity were at the heart of school life.

PE teacher James Cooney said: “I am absolutely delighted that our school has been recognised for the quality of its PE, school sport and physical activity.

“This award has highlighted the phenomenal effort we make to ensure that the highest possible provision is available for all our children. I am especially pleased that our swimming curriculum has been highlighted in our report.”
