IT seems hard to believe that it has been 14 years since George Sampson’s Britain’s Got Talent win.

So ahead of tomorrow’s final, we thought we’d revisit the Birchwood star's success.

The now 28-year-old won the hearts of the nation in 2008 after performing to the Mint Royale version of 'Singin' in the Rain' on the ITV primetime show.

He beat nine other acts to take home the £100,000 prize and performed before the Prince of Wales at the Royal Variety Show.

On the night of his win, judge Simon Cowell told the then 14-year-old: "You are the dance version of Rocky. You battled your way to the top."

George has been up to a lot since his win – including setting up his own dance studio on Crown Street.

After winning the competition, George received a hero's welcome when he returned to Birchwood High School.

And in the year of his win, crowds flocked to see George turn on the Golden Square Christmas lights – as well as Birchwood Shopping Centre’s lights.

At one point, George had a single in the charts and released his own dance DVD before inspiring youngsters in the town with his own dance studio on Crown Street.

Besides his busy schedule, George has always been on hand to help his own school out – namely when there was a sod-cutting ceremony to attend.

He also delighted winners at the Warrington Guardian’s first Inspiration Awards.

And his acting career seen him star in 3D feature film StreetDance 3D and StreetDance 2, as well as roles in Waterloo Road, Mount Pleasant and Emmerdale.

After the pandemic, George starred in the hit musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

The 2022 final of Britain’s Got Talent takes place tomorrow night, Sunday, where Warrington’s Aneeshwar Kunchala will take centre stage.
