GREAT Sankey pupils have helped police to take another knife off the town’s streets.

In a Facebook post, the team from Great Sankey South Police thanked the Great Sankey High School pupils who assisted officers yesterday afternoon, Wednesday.

It reads: “By working together we managed to get another knife off our streets and out of the hands of the wrong person.

“If anyone comes across any knives in the future please call us on 101 and help us make our communities a safer place.”

This comes after a week-long knife crime crackdown in the town which saw 165 weapons surrendered.

Knuckledusters and swords were among the weapons handed into police last week.
