‘DANCING Chris’ has been jailed again.

The 66-year-old, of no fixed address but from Warrington, was handed four weeks behind bars at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, May 24, after admitting breaching a criminal behaviour order.

This order was originally handed down by Warrington Magistrates Court in January 2020 after a series of incidents over the previous six months and subjected him to a number of restrictions, including banning him from the town centre.

During his latest appearance, magistrates heard that he flouted his CBO during an incident in the borough the previous day – in which he ‘shouted and swore at police officers while members of the public were present nearby’.

Full name Christopher Berry, he was locked up due to his ‘flagrant disregard for court orders’.

The defendant was also recalled on licence to serve remaining time on a 26-week imprisonment imposed by the courts in December last year.

On this occasion, he pleaded guilty to breaching a CBO, drunk and disorderly behaviour, threatening behaviour and failing to comply with supervision requirements.

This followed a drunken altercation with officers on Fennel Street, one of several occasions in which Berry has breached his court order.
