CAR parking for a popular Warrington park is now limited ahead of a major event.

The car park at Victoria Park in Latchford is now closed as work begins to prepare the site for the upcoming Neighbourhood Weekender.

Staged between Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29, the highly-anticipated music festival will see more than 50,000 revellers descend on the town.

This year’s event is being headlined by well-known acts including Courteeners, Kasabian, Blossoms, DMA’S and Becky Hill.

In a separate event, US rock giants My Chemical Romance will be performing in the park on Friday, May 27.

Cheshire Police is urging park users and motorists to be patient during the car park closure.

In an update, the force’s Latchford West Police team said: “Residents, please be aware that the car park on Victoria Park is now closed as they build the arena for Neighbourhood Weekender.

“Please be patient and considerate.”
