DARYL Powell has confirmed Josh Charnley will not be offered a deal to remain at Warrington Wolves for next season.

The winger was left out of the 17 that faced Catalans Dragons on Saturday and he will also miss tomorrow's clash with St Helens.

On Sunday evening, he dropped a hint about his future by posting a video montage of his Warrington highlights with the caption "What next."

Charnley is one of a number of players who are out of contract at the end of the season and Powell has confirmed he will be moving on after four-and-a-half years at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Powell did not close the door on him adding to the 108 Wire appearances he has made since joining in March 2018 during this season.

For the moment, however, the head coach is keen to see Connor Wrench have an extended run in the first team.

"He won’t be offered a contract for next year," Powell said of the former Wigan man.

"The thing for me at the moment is what can Connor Wrench do rather than talking about Josh too much.

"I thought he was outstanding last week – he’s put a little bit of size on through his injury issues, and he’s seriously fast.

"I’ve been really impressed with him as a young man and as a player, we want to grow his confidence.

"It’s more about that than anything else."
