A NEW Mayor of Warrington is set to be sworn in.
The issue will come before full council at its meeting at the Parr Hall on Monday.
Members will receive a recommendation from the mayoral selection committee to elect the mayor for the municipal year 2022/2023, as well as the deputy mayor.
Members of the mayoral selection committee, who met in March, recommend that the council invite Cllr Jean Flaherty to accept the office of mayor for the 2022/2023 municipal year.
Furthermore, committee members recommend that the council invite Cllr Graham Friend to accept the office of deputy mayor for 2022/2023.
The agenda for the full council meeting also highlights that members are to ‘note the continued appointment’ of Cllr Russ Bowden as the leader of the council until May 2024.
