A RESIDENT said it was like something out of a ‘scary film’ after seeing a huge swarm of wasps in the town centre.
Leighann, from Knightsbridge Aesthetics, spotted the swarm on Rylands Street at around 2pm this afternoon, Monday.
She said there were more than 1,000 of the insects making their way down the street.
“It was scary - like something out of a scary film,” Leighann said.
Information for dealing with wasps on Warrington Borough Council’s website reads: “For wasps entering a property, treatments can only be carried out if the hole(s) that the insects are using to access the property is / are below the gutter line of a standard 2 storey building.
“Any access points above this, such as roof tiles, cannot be reached due to the nature of our equipment.
“If a nest is found internally, please monitor externally, to locate the access to the property and identify entrance points.
“Any nests that need treating below the gutter line as advised above will require easy access for the treatment to be effective. If a wasps nest is difficult to locate ie: back of garden shed you will need to remove as much as possible for the officer to gain access to the area without aggravating the nest.”
