A COLLEGE apprentice has completed their course while working for the NHS during the pandemic.

Daw Ryan, a student at Warrington & Vale Royal College, completed her level 2 apprenticeship in customer service while working for the NHS during the global crisis.

The frontline worker, whose second language is English, also achieved a functional skills qualification in both maths and English.

Discussing her recent triumphs, Daw said: “I am overwhelmed, thank you to Warrington & Vale Royal College and the NHS for helping me to achieve my level 2 qualification.”

Shortly after starting her course, Daw joined frontline workers to deliver medications to patients at Warrington and Halton NHS Trust.

Due to Covid-19, her teachings were moved online.

This was a difficult period for the NHS worker as she balanced both her education and work during the global pandemic.

Jill Murphy, apprenticeship coach at the college, said: “It has certainly not been easy for Daw, but she has persevered and kept going. Daw has always been committed, motivated and engaged, completing everything with full effort and enthusiasm. I am absolutely delighted for her.”

The college also wishes to express its appreciation to both the pharmacy department at Warrington and Halton NHS Trust and Jill Murphy for their support and guidance for Daw.
