A TEENAGER who stole more than £1,000 of goods from a shop has been referred to a youth offender panel.
The 17-year-old defendant appeared before Merseyside Magistrates' Court.
The boy, from Newton-le-Willows, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to theft.
He admitted to stealing alcohol and miscellaneous items to the value of £1,064.11 from Tesco in King's Lynn, Norfolk on March 3 this year.
The boy had previously been convicted of stealing alcohol from Booths supermarket in Ormskirk to the value of £206.50 on September 13, 2021.
The teenager was referred to a youth offender panel for six months for each theft, making a total of 12 months.
He was also made to pay £206.50 in compensation over the theft in Ormskirk.
