WARRINGTON Wolves head coach Daryl Powell has provided an injury update from the clash with Huddersfield Giants at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Oliver Holmes and hat-trick hero Josh Thewlis took bangs in the game.

And Powell confirmed that England half-back George Williams withdrew from selection after team training on Thursday, giving Peter Mata'utia and Riley Dean just the team run on Friday to combine together as half-backs for the first time.

Powell said: "We came up with a plan for Riley Dean and George Williams and then had to move it again on Friday.

"I'm not sure if George will be fit for next week. He's had a scan and we'll see how he goes through the week.

"He couldn't run well yesterday, so we'll see, but I wouldn't be able to say 100 percent either way for George against Wigan at the moment.

"Olly Holmes got a bit of a dead leg and that started to tighten up so he came off with that."

Thewlis struggled to regain his feet at the end of the game after preventing Jermaine McGilveray from scoring a try.

Powell said: "Jermaine's a big dude to stop. I think Josh is so brave, he just handles those situations. He's not the biggest, but he's one of the bravest I've seen.

"He's done some class things in terms of defending the try line.

"I think he's alright. I think he was cramping up a bit which you can understand from the workrate he's put in."
