OFSTED representatives were impressed by a nursery that parents speak highly of.

Kids Planet Great Sankey received a visit from inspectors who rated the nursery, which opened in 2018, as ‘good’.

The setting, on Barnes Close, received ‘good’ in all four sections – the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.

“Children are greeted by friendly staff as they arrive at nursery,” representatives said in their report.

“They enter a warm and welcoming environment. Children are happy to see staff and their friends.

“They eagerly make their way to the different activities which have been set up for them.”

Ofsted inspectors also noted how children show that they feel ‘safe and secure’ with staff and that they go to them for a ‘reassuring cuddle’.

Leaders were praised for their response to the Covid-19 pandemic which saw them ‘continuously adapt’ and help to keep children safe.

And the report also highlighted the activities provided for the children: “Staff plan activities and experiences for children that capture their interests.

“For example, children eagerly experiment how they can melt ice using water and sand.

“Children get fresh air and exercise every day. They enjoy playing outside with their friends."

The report noted that this is exampled by a group of children who were having 'great fun' exploring how water moves through large tunnels.

And the fact that children benefit from outings in the local community – such as visits to the park – was praised.
