A STOCKTON Heath business has been named as one of the ‘most exciting’ new businesses in the region.

Silverwood Jewellery, based on Fairfield Road, has been shortlisted as part of a brand new awards programme.

The company sells handcrafted wood jewellery – meaning it is sustainable and eco-friendly.

The StartUp Awards National Series has been launched to recognise the booming startup scene across the UK which has accelerated since the pandemic began.

In 2020, when most of the world was shutting down, more than 400,000 startups were set up in Britain, with similar increases seen in other European countries.

There was tough competition with over 2,500 applications received in response to the Startup Awards National Series’ first-ever call for entries.

Claire de Bezenac, from Stockton Heath, is designer and founder of Silverwood Jewellery.

Warrington Guardian:

She said: I am so excited that all the work that has gone into this project is being recognised in this way.

“It has been a challenging start over the last couple of years, but I've been well supported.

“I am grateful to be working with a wonderful team of super talented craftsmen and jewellers who have helped make this dream a reality.”

Supported nationally by BT, EY, Dell & Intel, the awards programme will celebrate the achievements of the amazing individuals across the UK who have turned an idea into an opportunity and taken the risk to launch a new product or service.

Claire added: “I also want to thank all my customers who have believed in what we are doing and who have encouraged me to keep going.

“There is still so much to do but I am positive about the future.”
