ONE of British fiction’s best-known characters is being brought back to the masses after being republished.
Book publisher Mike Bryan is launching a collection of Arthur Conan Doyle’s books to bring the character to a younger audience.
In recent years there has been a huge upsurge of interest in the famous detective Sherlock Holmes after blockbuster films starring Robert Downey Junior and a TV series with Benedict Cumberbatch.
The collection comprises all the original nine books in superb gift editions as a retro-inspired full set of Conan Doyle’s adventures.
Mike, director of publisher Baker Street Press, said: “Sherlock Holmes remains the most fascinating and enigmatic character in the history of British crime fiction.
“There has always been a high level of interest in Holmes and Watson, with 221b Baker Street receiving letters to the great consulting detective to this day.
“So, we felt the time was right to launch the definitive set of Sherlock Holmes classics.”

Originally serialised in newspapers and magazines in the late nineteenth century, Conan Doyle’s famous collection of detective stories transport the reader back to Holmes’s bustling Victorian London, the misty moors of Dartmoor, the dizzying heights of the Reichenbach Falls and the cosy living room of 221b Baker Street.
It is the only collection of all the Sherlock Holmes books available in hardback and features original cover art inspired by the editions of the 1920s.
Mike started his career in publishing in Stockton Heath, selling books in the reputable bookshop Books Bradshaw.
Educated locally and originally from Walton, he went on to develop a successful international sales career with publisher Penguin, becoming CEO of Penguin India and Penguin Canada.
He subsequently launched Baker Street Press in 2019. The complete ‘Sherlock Holmes Classics’ collection of nine books is available from Waterstones and all good bookshops.
