A WARRINGTON property developer sat on the top table after sponsoring one of Labour North West's biggest nights.

Shehzad Khan is a Warrington resident and director of POD Property Group which sponsored the glitzy affair in Manchester on Thursday night.

The company is a privately-owned property development company specialising in residential and commercial property across the UK.

It is behind current redevelopments of the Blind Society building on Museum Street and the former Warrington Club.

The north west Labour gala dinner was attended by more than 700 Labour supporters including Leader of the Labour party Keir Starmer, Shadow Chancellor Angela Rayner, Lucy Powell MP, Leader of Manchester City Council Beverley Craig, and former England and Man United player Gary Neville.

Shehzad was invited to sit at the top table with the well-known guests and his mum, CEO of Ashling Group, Razia Begum.

He said: “Keir and his team were really great. They were very invested in listening and socialising with attendees. We had some great chats about the community, regeneration across the north west and football.

“It was a great honour to support the event. Labour are really passionate about bringing a change, particularly in support of the north west community. Having lived and worked in the north west my entire life, I reap any opportunity to give back.”

Prior to the start of the evening, Shehzad was invited for a private drinks reception hosted close to the venue.

The evening consisted of dinner, a Q&A session with Sir Keir Starmer and Gary Neville and a fundraising action hosted by Angela Rayner.
