THE BBC hit drama The Responder is returning for a second series.

The first season involved Great Sankey-born actor Warren Brown who played a starring role as Ray Mullen, a policeman with a strong dislike for Chris Carson’s character played by Martin Freeman.

The Responder, which was the second biggest new drama of 2022 so far, launched with nearly 10 million viewers across 30-days.

It will return for a second series and will once again be set and filmed in Liverpool.

At the time of the first series being released, Warren told us: “The opportunity to get back to work was amazing working with the calibre of people in the show, but also to get back up north and be filming in Liverpool was brilliant.

“It’s just great to get back to work on a great script with brilliant people and being back up north was a bonus.”
