PRIMARY school youngsters from Culcheth have started a special project in partnership with the Peace Centre where they will learn about the 1993 bombings in Warrington.

The project, Tiny Steps, is based on the children’s book ‘Good Can Come from Evil’ which relates to the two boys who died in the horrific attack – Tim Parry and Johnathan Ball.

The project will include parents, teachers and governors at Culcheth Community Primary School.

It aims to provide those involved with the skills for dealing with any difficult conversation that may arise in the classroom and enable them to deal with conflict.

And throughout the scheme, a peace education workshop will take place as well as class room sessions to educate youngsters on the events of the Warrington bombing.

At the end of the project, a graduation ceremony will take place at the Peace Centre in Great Sankey.

Those who completed all sessions will be acknowledged as ‘peace ambassadors’ and presented with certificates by Colin and Wendy Parry – founders of the Peace Foundation.

A copy of Good Can Come from Evil will also be issued to all youngsters in order to continue the conversations around violence and peaceful conflict resolution.
