EACH area of Warrington has seen its coronavirus infection rate plummet over the past week, official statistics show.

Many communities in the town saw case numbers fall by more than a hundred as the peak of the Omicron wave passes, with the Government’s plan B measures being relaxed soon.

Fairfield and Howley is the area with the most cases, recording 151 in a week, although this is a fall of 119 cases compared to a week prior.

The area with the lowest number of cases is Locking Stumps with 34 – down 68 compared to a week ago.

Infection rates are published using Public Health England figures via an interactive map on the Government’s online coronavirus dashboard.
