WARRINGTON Hospital has reached another devastating milestone in its battle against Covid-19
The death of four patients at the hospital over the weekend that had contracted coronavirus means that the site’s virus death toll has now sadly reached 600.
The news was confirmed by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in its daily Covid briefing released this afternoon, Monday.
At present, 77 beds at the Lovely Lane site are occupied by patients that have tested positive for coronavirus in the past 14 days or less.
Of this number, three are in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
This is a fall of 10 patients in total since Friday, although the number in the ICU has risen by one.

Moreover, 19 more patients were discharged from Warrington Hospital over the weekend after recovering from Covid-19.
This takes the trust’s virus discharge total since the start of the pandemic to 2,886.
