A SUSPECTED drug driver was arrested after a crash on a major route this morning.
The collision occurred on Chester Road in Daresbury at around 7am today, Friday.
Pictures from the scene on the A56 showed major damage to the side of a silver BMW car involved in the incident.
Cheshire Police have confirmed that a motorist was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug driving after roadside tests indicated that cocaine and cannabis was present in their system.
They remain in custody this afternoon.
A force spokesman said: “The driver provided a positive drugs wipe for cannabis and cocaine.
“As we near the festive season, don't put other road users at risk by driving when you may be under the influences.”
