FIVE Warrington racers will look to move into the fast lane of the motorsport world as they compete in the British Indoor Karting Championships this weekend.
The event will be hosted at TeamSport track in Warrington, the largest purpose-built indoor go karting track in the UK.
Finalists from across the country will compete in five categories – cadet, junior, lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight – and as well as being crowned British champion, the victors will lay claim to a share of the £20,000 prize pot.
With 35 bends and a thrilling Monaco-style tunnel, the racetrack, which is located close to Bank Quay station, is the perfect opportunity for these drivers to pit their wits against the best.

The BIKC, launched in 2020, offers accessible and affordable opportunities for grassroots indoor karting across the UK, and Warrington is no exception as it will be represented in three finals throughout the weekend.
Alex Wentworth will race in the lightweight category, James Bate in the heavyweight, and Matthew Roberts, Matthew Williams and Mckenzie Jones will all have their eyes on victory in the middleweight division.
Spectators are welcome to attend and all of the action will be livestreamed for viewers around the world to support and watch.
